About

Okay, my friend talked my into joining this...well... actually, she just showed me her profile and I went "Hey, cool! I want one!"

With the exception of a steady stream of poetry, I've been lacking the confidence to start a real narrative story before. I'm thinking this might be the place to test the waters, if you take my meaning. The real question at the moment is: would I rather write fanfic or original fiction? And if fanfic - which fandom and with what percentage of crackfic and romance (two things I prefer to keep to a minimum)?

Ah, decisions, decisions...

It doesn't help that I have about a MILLION fandoms! (By fandom I mean - a fictional world for which I have read, watched, searched for, or contemplated creating fanfic, artwork, or music videos.)

*insert lolcat pic of choosing*

Let me sho u dem.

WARNING: LISTS AHEAD!

Fandoms:

-Stargate SG-1 (my first true fandom *huggles*)
-Stargate Atlantis
-Lord of the Rings (which introduced me to the concept of fan fiction. Primarily a book fan, BTW.)
-MacGyver (One word: Murdoc. Also, because Richard Dean Anderson was HOT! in the 80s.)
-X-men (anything and everything, even Evo... and the crappy 3rd movie...)
-Doctor Who (from Troughton to Tennant... okay, so I didn't like Colin Baker. Sue me. Or better yet, sue him for wearing rainbow shorts.)
-Dragonriders of Pern (fav characters: Menolly, Masterharper Robinton, and F'nor. Canth is awesome.)
-Firefly (the most invigoratingly perfect science fiction series in history. Also great to watch if you're becoming frustrated with rampant Utopianism, etc)
-The X-Files (MSR! Morbid and creepifying situations! Secret organizations! Whumpage and humorous banter! What's not to like?)
-The Pretender
-Star Trek: The Original Series (I think I'm getting whiplash from Star Trek's resurgence of popularity)
-21 Jump Street
-Drive (It was short-lived, but you must admit that Tully's car was droolworthy)
-House, MD (I liked Hugh Laurie before he played an American! So there!)
-Ender's Game & Ender's Shadow (I like Bean better, but you can't have Bean without Ender)
-Get Smart (the old TV show, not the stupid movie)
-Maximum Ride
-The Scarlet Pimpernel (book series, broadway musical, and movie... the Anthony Andrews version)
-The Matrix (read xkcd to find out what I'd do with the pills)
-Early Edition (Because Gary was cute and Chuck was amusing...until season 3.)
-Heroes (Even though it's a total ripoff of X-men. LOL)
-Beauty and the Beast
-Pirates of the Caribbean (1st movie: awesome. 2nd movie: crap. 3rd movie: unbelievable epicness. It all evens out.)
-The Office
-Farscape
-Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog (*hearts* social commentary. ^_^ Joss is the best.)
-Jeeves & Wooster (and PG Wodehouse, etc)
-Hardy Boys (childhood fandom!)
-Quantum Leap
-Numb3rs
-The Redwall series (especially Mossflower, Salamandastron, and Mariel of Redwall)
-Spooks (aka MI5)
-Stardust (Steampunk forever!)
-Myst/Riven/Exile/Revelations (My fav games of all time. Again w/ the Steampunk element.)
-City of Ember (more Steampunkishness. I ship Lina/Doon.)
-R. E. N. T.
-High School Musical (I refuse to feel guilty for this one.)
-Star Trek: Enterprise (Porthos! I also have a soft spot for Trip.)
-Knight Rider (KITT is my boyfriend. LOL)
-Newsies
-Sarah Jane Adventures (Sarah totally deserved this spinoff!)
-Torchwood (Jack totally didn't deserve this spinoff. But Gwen was cool.)
-Indiana Jones
-Star Wars (the original trilogy. Star Wars without Han Solo is just lame.)
-National Treasure
-Superman (and none of that soap-opera Smallville...Gah.)
-Castle
-The Thief Lord
-The Great Good Thing (fantastic book, BTW. Read it if you haven't.)
-Batman (Anti-heroes... where would we be without them? He has the best bad guys anyway. Alfred and Gordon are great, too.)
-The Monkees (and yes, I mean the really terrible TV show that I love anyways... Peter's my favorite, BTW.)
-Highlander (Because everyone knows that decapitation is fun!)
-Galaxy Quest. (Yes. It's a fandom. Ironic, no?)
-Even Stevens
-Discworld
-The Chronicles of Narnia (*hearts Edmund*)
-Pride & Prejudice
-Transformers
-Van Helsing (Someone should seriously do a set of graphic novels based on this movie.)
-Sanctuary (A recent addition. I love Henry so much! Can't wait for season 2!)
-Watership Down (an old favorite. Spoiler! Thlayli is a double agent!)
-Underworld (just the first movie.)
-Roswell (the TV show)
-Stealth (even though EDI was kinda evil.)
-Legend (rare old TV show with Richard Dean Anderson. Kinda Western Steampunk with a twist. Very amusing.)
-Eureka
-Traders (I only watched it for Grant Jansky)
-Chain Reaction (no fanbase for this that I could find, but I still love the movie)
-Joan of Arcadia
-Buffy the Vampire Slayer
-Moulin Rouge
-anything and everything Jules Verne
-ditto: Jane Austen
-Cats (the musical)
-Pirates of Penzance
-The Xanth Chronicles
-The Island (more anti-Utopian commentary)
-Ladyhawke
-A Knight's Tale
-The Man From Snowy River (One of my first fandoms ever, even though I didn't really know a word for it at the time)
-Hidalgo
-The Illusionist
-The Hunt for Red October (Submarines! Yessssss.....)
-Eagle Eye
-Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (the musical, not the TV show)
-The Hunchback of Notre Dame
-Rudy (which also includes Notre Dame, but no Hunchbacks)
-Homeless Bird
-Robin Hood (Love most versions of this legend, although I haven't seen the new TV series yet.)
-LOST
-Mr Smith Goes to Washington (This is my all-time favorite film. Ever. Seriously. This will never change. I even made a music video for it. Jimmy Stewart is legendary.)

...

Soooo, that happened. Understandably, I have a thing for crossovers. And crossover 'shipping. Like... I kinda have a thing for River Tam/Rodney McKay fic. Which is weird, but... no weirder than people who ship The Doctor with random people from the multiverse.

Oh yeah, and if you play piano check out Sniper22b (on Youtube). They're like the Olympic champions of funky piano. Those guys are my HEROES. *hugs piano*

This is me. I'm a non-denominational Christian with quasi-libertarian politics, a love for variety in fiction and music, a mild obsession with graphic design, and a cat. Yes, that non sequitur was my tabby cat Pi. She's cute, but I'll spare you the details.

I make unique clothing, knit, and recycle scraps as rugs or iphone cases. I watch too many TV shows. I play piano. I climb trees in public. I bellydance. I draw comics. I (unsuccessfully, thus far) hunt for a real job. And I make oh-so-ricey bento on a shoestring budget. (this is indeed possible. Just ask the author of the Freakin' Tasy Bento blog.)

Oh yeah... and I'm contemplating a better Steampunk costume, so if you have ideas, shout 'em out.
