Mercy, Unbound
The book follows fifteen year old protagonist, Mercy, who refuses to eat because she thinks she is sprouting angel wings on her back. She believes that eating would stun her growth as an angel, because angels don't need food. And if she stays human, she wouldn't be able to help people; whereas if she accepted her fate to be an angel she would be able to ease some of the world's pain.
