About
How do you summarise your character in a few sentences? With short, concise words, I suppose. I'm an expert at coming straight to the point when given a subject, except, of course, the subject of myself. The truth is, I'm a nebulous sort of person. My boundaries are ill-defined and constantly changing, since I'm always reaching my grubby hands out to grab at new topics. You see, the universe is my reference book and you never know when you might need to know the habits of a particular species of whale. Well, whales are a bad example, since I find them unbelievably dry. (I don't hold it against them, mind you. It's not their fault they're dry.)
Anyway, let's give that summary another try. My name is not Destorianhippotate, and if anybody told you I'm a day older than thirty, they'd be lying. I was born female, but now that I've been given a chance to contemplate it, that really means nothing except that I can have babies. I am what you call a hyphenated Canadian, or perhaps a hyphenated Bangladeshi, though that's somewhat more uncommon. You see, if I attempt to explain how I could possibly be Bangladeshi and not living in Bangladesh, I confuse many of my peers and force their brains to shut down. Thus, the hyphen was adopted and is much loved by its two nationalities.
I have no goal in life at the moment, except to find as much time to relax as possible, and to win the school dance competition this year. Publishing a story would be very nice, and I'm told that I am not an entirely awful author (not that that has anything to do with publishing, of course), but I don't want to force myself into anything. Most of my year is spent with a dry fountain of inspiration as I have school for a great chunk of it, and my most productive times are between midnight and seven in the morning. I'm forced to spend this fertile period oblivious to the world, meaning little work is squeezed out of me except on the weekends and holidays.
And, as I am a master of the weak ending, you get no compelling quote or thought to punch you out of my biography. Oh, wait, one second. It's coming! A quote!
"Perhaps a lunatic was simply a minority of one." -George Orwell, 1984
(if you thought that was put in there with the serious purpose of provoking thought, then you are gravely mistaken.)
