About
Hi, I'm a bit older than your average Mibbian, but still a teenager inside in many ways and can relate to so much of what I've read on here. I did check whether it would be ok for me to join as it's a site for young authors predominantly and was told I was welcome to join so I hope that's the general opinion - suffice to say I come in peace!
I'd love to hear what you think of my poems and my paintings too - only just picked up the brushes again after many years too scared to try and it's loads of fun but I could do with some encouragement or critique or even some ideas of what to paint next - that could be challenging :-)
16/05/08 - I've added a song Lighthouse Family feat. Hypnosis - Ain't No Sunshine/Dangerously Bored Mix.mp3 - (by the way, Hypnosis is me - vocals aren't great but it was done on a desk mic so make allowances :-) ).
Music and Musicians That I love
Sean, my son and a wonderful guitarist and member of the band Manticore that I sadly have not had the priviledge to hear performing…. Yet!!!
Andy, my husband and a nervous but nevertheless talented guitarist, pianist and singer with a unique voice backed by lungs of steel!
…. And the runners up are……
Abba
Ace of Base
Anastacia
Annie Lennox
Basement Jaxx
Blondie
Bodyrockers (I like the way you move)
Cake
Carole King (Tapestry – 2nd LP I bought)
Catatonia
Christina Aguilera (who keeps me strong when I feel weakened)
Counting Crows
Cyndi Lauper
Dumonde (especially Tomorrow)
Faithless (especially We Come One)
Fleetwood Mac
Frank Sinatra
Garbage
Green Day (yes even my taste can be that good)
Gwen Stefani
Infected Mushroom
Iron Butterfly (Inagaddadavida – 1st LP I ever bought)

Jamiroquai
Judie Tzuke (Stay With Me Til Dawn)

My favorite actress and chef is my daughter Sabrina who is also fast becoming something of a writer and has always had artistic talent.
Runners up actors are...
Laurence Olivier, Russell Crowe, Patrick Swayze..... Goldie Hawn, Meryl Streep, Audrey Hepburn.......... oh there's others but my brain isn't working - I may add more...
Runners up chefs are...
Delia Smith
Gordon Ramsay
Anthony Worrell-Thompson
That guy Gino from the daytime tv cooking show I can't remember - but he's a right charmer..
My favorite athletes are:
My daughter Steph who has recently competed in the Ten Tors though I don't know how well she did cos we live too far apart but she has amazing dedication, strength and stamina so I'm sure she did a wonderful job - way to go Steph!
My son Ben who is a fighter and a survivor and he is the most physical person I know - can't work out where he gets it from but hell, he never stops!)
Runners up athletes are (I'm not very good with names of sports personalities so the list is likely to be short and potentially inaccurate, but here goes)...
Duncan Goodhew
The blonde lady runner who won something major for the uk not so long ago
Colin Jackson who not only does the whole athletics thing but also did strictly come dancing with style
So, above is a bunch of people who all do more stuff than I could ever hope to achieve and my admiration is with them. Add to that the stunning authors on here and I am but a feather in the ocean of life, swept along by the amazing currents I find my transport flowing me into!
Guys, you gotta let me know what you think of my brand of madness cos your opinions are really valuable to me.
