"Somewhere in the vast obscurity beyond the city
Where the dark fields rolled on under the night
Gatsby believed in the green light
Tomorrow we will run faster
Tomorrow we will stretch our arms farther."
-The Great Gatsby, Fitzgerald
"thank-you"

Dear
Dead Poets Society,
I cannot think of any of you as merely characters, but as
my green light. Mr. Keating taught me that words can indeed change the world. Todd helped me find my voice. Charlie fueled me to never let anyone take me alive. Meeks and Pitt told me it's okay to be a kid. Knox gives me hope about love.
And Neil, oh Neil- I play the facade of a perfect straight-A child like you once did. I struggle to be a perfect daughter when I am the very definition of imperfect. Everyone wants me to be a doctor, engineer, scientist..., but I have nothing in my heart, but art and literature. Like you once said,
"I'm trapped".. But I gained the strength and courage from you to break free. You inspired me to turn my dream into a reality. Watch over me, Neil. May you rest in peace.
Each and everyone of you breathed the essence of
"Carpe Diem" into my heart, soul, and body.
Thank-you, Dead Poets Society.

"I went to the woods because I wanted to live deliberately. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life! To put to rout all that was not life, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived."
-Dead Poets Society
I am
Ryter, thou Humble Narrator.
Words cannot even begin to describe me, because I am still creating myself with each day I live. I know where my convictions lies, and what I must do:
protect my family,
speak the truth, and
change the world. I am fighting to rid ignorance, indifference, and apathy. Perhaps I will never see the light of justice while I'm alive, but I only hope that one day the light will shine when I am gone.
Most importantly of all,
I am a writer. I have come to learn that words can indeed make a difference. Words can bring change. Words can kindle a flame. Words can give people something to believe in.
A long time ago, I used to be a child that stopped believing in the world, in people, in love, but then I realized that instead of waiting for change to come, I must bring change. If I want to see light, I must spark the light. If I want something to believe in, I have to find something to believe in.
That is why the only people for me are the
mad ones. Mad to dream, mad to live, mad to love. They burn, burn, burn! like Gatsby's green light before exploding across the sky like a spiderweb of stars.
Question is, are you a mad one?

From Finding Neverland to August Rush, this kid just kills me. Freddie doesn't act; he lives. He is indeed a mad one. Freddie is a Gatsby. I believe that he is a spark in my green light.

place you can escape to and just let it go."

Don't steal. Stealing my words, stealing my art, stealing my creations is the equivalent of stealing my last breath. (Plus, I do have sources that can take you down, and oblierate you, so
don't.)
