About

Image

Hey there, I'm a freshman in college at UC Santa Cruz, California, and I have ever-changing colored striped hair on brown. Love music but don’t play an instrument – though I am quite fond of air drums and guitar.

On December 20th, 2006, me and a friend got to meet Mike Dirnt at Rudy's Can't Fail Cafe! That was the most awesome moment, and he truly is a very nice guy. I hated to intrude, but I did get an autograph on a napkin. Me and my friend were pretty much in shock after that, and as he and his family were leaving, he came back over to our table and handed us a guitar pick he found in his pocket. He said, "Sorry I don't have two, you guys will have to cut it in half." We did too. :)

And here's an awesome story: this year I found out that I babysit for the second drummer of the band The Offspring when they were first starting out. He lives across the street, wife, two kids and is now a doctor. I never would have guessed It's a fucking small world. We got him to sign their very first album that he played on.

I want a couple of tattoos. The first is an all black copy of the heart grenade on American Idiot. It's for the album and it pretty much sums up my life in a bunch of ways that would take another three pages to say, but don't get me wrong, I listen to every album of Green Day pretty equally. They are one of the few bands where I truly love every one. I would also like a little red star on my hand (yes, much like Billie Joe's (for him in a way (because Billie writes the majority of the lyrics and that's what got me loving them))). It would be my Waiting lucky star as other Green Day fans have done, as well as the guys.

If you have not read Catcher in the Rye, do it. It's really a great book. Yes, people will be forced to read it in class, but don't let that ruin it for you. I will admit I read it because of Who Wrote Holden Caulfield?, the fact that it is Billie Joe's favorite book as well as Kurt Kobain's, and Gerard Way and Frank Iero's come to find out. I have not had the chance, but it's a book I would really like to read again, and believe me, if I want to do that, it's fucking good.

Another great non-fiction book is called Hardcore Zen. It's about a guy who starts out in punk rock bands in the states and ends up becoming a certified Buddist priest in Japan. It's actually a very funny book and a great view of how Buddism is not a religion but a philosophy and a way of life. He writes much like I do actually, but at the same time it's a book that really has a level head, understands punk mentality and makes you think about your own life. Plus, it lets anyone at all read it and understand regardless of whether or not you know anything about Buddism at all to begin with.

Below on my profile there are the great 10 Commandments of MCR. I wrote the 10 Commandments of Green Day, and me and a friend co-wrote the 10 Commandments of HIM. Listen to them. Love em. If you are still reading this, I absolutely love you. Umm…be excellent to each other. Party on dudes. And, Everyone, just get through high school. It can get better. You don't ever have to stop being punk though. Rock on.

The Bands:
Green Day
The Offspring (My Mommy's fault since I was five and Smash came out along with Dookie.)
My Chemical Romance
Def Leppard (Mommy's fault since forever too. Saw them in concert Aug 2006.)
HIM
Nirvana (Wait, that was Mommy too.)
Breaking Benjamin
Pinhead Gunpowder
Shinedown
Seether
Nickelback
Scorpians
Eve 6
The Living End
Metallica (My Mom listens to good music, I realize now she gave me half of these bands.)
Queen
Bouncing Souls
The Misfits

And a few songs by:
Rob Zombie
White Zombie
Korn
Bon Jovi
The Clash
The Ramones
Bad Religion
The White Stripes
The Raconteurs
Soundgarden
Flogging Molly

And I will admit, a few also by:
Goo Dolls
Blink-182
Sum 41

Damn, my Mom also was the one to give me Seether, Rob Zombie, White Zombie and Korn. That's pretty kick ass I think. You would never guess by looking at her. Now my dad, that is a whole nother story. Eww. He has bad music. Metallica the Black Album good...country and elevator music bad.

San Francisco Recording Academy Honours 2006, 3/19/06: The Best Line-Up to Walk This Earth

This IS my religion:

THE 10 COMMANDMENTS OF A GREEN DAY

1. Thou shall not leave thy friends in need.
2. Thou shall live in the
minority as sons of rage and love.
3. Thou shall thank your
lucky stars.
4. Thou shall whine about
nothing and everything all at once.
5. Thou shall spend a day of pot and blow off
steam with methamphetamine.
6. Thou shall say thou’s
1000 hours love in a song if thou’s pen is writing wrong.
7. Thou shall respect the
messiah, Michael, the king, Tre, and the lord, Billie Joe.
8. Thou shall sing the holy hymns of the
sweet children.
9. Thou shall not ask “
why?”. (Tis a lesson learned in time.)
10. Thou shall
rock hard (if need be, pantsless).

water and drown in flame for love.
5. Thou shall not
razorblade kiss thy lover for lust alone.

"Look down at me, you see a fool; Look up at me, you see a god; Look straight at me, you see yourself."
~Charles Manson

"If for one minute you think you're better than a sixteen year old girl in a Green Day t-shirt, you are sorely mistaken. Remember the first time you went to a show and saw your favorite band. You wore their shirt, and sang every word. You didn't know anything about scene politics, haircuts, or what was cool. All you knew was that this music made you feel different from anyone you shared a locker with. Someone finally understood you. This is what music is about."
~Gerard Way

"School is practice for future life, practice makes perfect and nobodys perfect, so why practice?"
~Billie Joe Armstrong
