FULL NAME: Marly
NICKNAMES: Marlz, Bob, MD, Marly Darly. I had others but they’re not really used anymore.
Why I write: I write because I enjoy it. I enjoy telling stories that are out of the ordinary. I do it for my own enjoyment but also hope that people will enjoy my stories as well. I write FanFiction because that's where my inspiration to write comes from [my favourite bands]. However, I am attempting an Original Fiction and will maybe someday think about becoming published. Who knows?

In the meantime, I'm finishing a degree in teaching so I can become a Science Educator.

FAVOURITE BAND:Simple Plan – no more really needs to be said. The first international band to really make a mark on my love of music. (And the first international band I’ve ever seen live).


Simple Plan: This band started me off on my serious journey of loving music. [I totally blame Pierre Bouvier...]. I think I will always hold them dear and close to my heart. They are the first international band I've seen live. The first band where I listened to all their songs over and over again. It was the music which first drew me to them. I became a fan on November 1st 2004. That was when I bought their Welcome to My Life single. I had actually heard them earlier on in the year in August 2004...the video for Perfect came on Video Hits one morning. However the only thing I thought was that it was kinda funny that they were performing on a roof. I bought the perfect single then, but didn't really think about the band.

OTHER BANDS: Avenged Sevenfold [Favourite Band]


Avenged Sevenfold Okay straight up, I'll be honest, I got into A7X because SP cancelled their Perth gig in October 2008. However it's funny really because I came about them in a roundabout sort of way. I was looking for Jim Sturgess/ATU FanFic found mibba.com and started reading A7X fanfic...someone had posted the video for Seize the Day and Afterlife on their stories and I liked them...so it started from there. And now...well it's pretty obvious...I really love their music. Doesn't hurt that they're good looking either. Haven't seen them live yet. Oh, and another thing, my brother had Unholy Confessions on his iPod and showed it to me back in 2006...I hated the song then...but now it's one of my favourites. Go figure.

To tell the truth, I like Avenged more than I like Simple Plan...but SP will always be my first favourite.

Eskimo Joe: Alright, this band is from Fremantle Australia...and well that says it all. Along with their amazing tunes and lyrics and all over vibe. Haven't seen them live either, but more likely to see them than Avenged. Lol.

OLDIES [Music]? I am blessed with a family who appreciates music. I have been introduced to so many different musical artists. I like to think that I know good music when I hear it. My Dad has influenced my tastes most definitely. I have more oldies songs on my iPod than my younger brother does. And, when I hear oldies songs I recognise them. Of course, when the term oldies is used I categorise 50s, 60s, 70s music as oldies. 80s is almost contemporary and I do like some music from those years as well. Of course, I love covers of oldies songs and there are even covers of even OLDER songs popping up

Why is the sky blue?
Is the sky really blue? It could be yellow…! Lol. No, but seriously the sky is blue due to the refraction of sunlight through the atmosphere, all other colours get absorbed by the atmosphere and therefore the sky is blue because it is reflected. Don’t quote me on that…I’ll have to go check…
