About
Hey!
It's not my real name, but on here I'm MaggieDoll.
I'm a fairly private person I guess, and I assume that is why I write.
I don't know how good I am at it so feedback is always very, very welcome..
Particularly constructive criticism! (Keyword constructive!! Haha!)
I am a bit cynical really, but on the other hand I try to really enjoy life as a whole.
MUSIC is amazing. Like almost anyone, I am obsessed with it. I love a whole range of stuff, depending on the mood. The Beatles, Smashing Pumpkins, The Clash, Sex Pistols, Faith No More, Marilyn Manson (gotta love it), Strung Out, Nirvana, Rolling Stones, The Prodigy, The Presets, Rancid, The Transplants, Operation Ivy.. for all those Tim Armstrong fans out there. Plenty more obviously, chances are we like some of the same bands.
BOOKS are brilliant. They inspire and fascinate me. I wish I could write one myself! HA! I'll forever be a starving artist if I trek down that dangerous path. Markus Zusak is a brilliant author with gritty stories, I love him. Luke Davies wrote Candy which just blew my mind. I generally go by the book itself, not necessarily the author.
FILMS are a type of art that can move me like no other. Whether it be classic Aussie gut-busters like The Castle or French flicks such as Amelie or Monsieur Batignole... I think a lot can be said for a great film. Some favourites are Candy, American Beauty, Full Metal Jacket, GoodFellas, Donnie Brasco, Pulp Fiction, Detroit Rock City (yeah baby!), Snatch, Rise of the Footsoldier and of course Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.
These are my words, presented in smatterings of passion. They are not perfect, they are merely raw, tattered pages of emotion, but they are mine. These words tell my story, and I'd very much like it if you'd read them. Take care! x
